Job description
Dexter Energy is an Amsterdam-based scale-up developing AI-powered forecasting and optimization solutions that help renewable energy companies navigate short-term power markets. We are passionate about accelerating the shift to a sustainable and affordable energy system, enabling the market to move away from fossil fuels toward a future powered by renewables.
About This Role
We’re looking for exceptional quantitative trading talent with hands-on expertise in energy markets. If you’re a senior quant or trading analyst ready to step out of the traditional trading firm environment and join a company where developing products, models, and algorithms is the priority—not just an aside to daily trading operations—this could be the next exciting chapter in your career.
In this open application role, we’re seeking someone who can work independently, contributing high-impact insights and designs across several key areas:
Feature Research: Defining and developing new features for trading and forecasting models.
System/Model Design: Setting up and refining backtesting frameworks, and designing models and algorithms.
Trading Opportunities Analysis: Identifying which markets and trading opportunities to pursue, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals.
Risk Framework Development: Contributing to robust frameworks that assess and mitigate risks in our AI-driven forecasts and strategies.
Note: This open application is not for a defined role or team, but rather an invitation to explore impactful opportunities together.
Why Join Dexter?
You might be ready for Dexter if:
You’re eager to be part of an algorithmic trading company where you’ll work alongside top ML experts and software developers, staying at the forefront of market innovation.
You’re drawn to a data-driven, mission-focused company that leverages tech to create a meaningful impact on the energy sector.
You’re looking for a flexible, forward-thinking environment where ideas turn into impactful solutions, and your expertise can help drive the transition to renewable energy.
