Your team
As a key player in Dexter Energy’s Sales team, you’ll collaborate closely with leaders like Philip (Head of Sales & Marketing), Hubert (CCO), the Marketing team, and Product teams to localize and position Dexter’s product for the DACH market. You’ll join a group of talented professionals who are driven by a shared vision: to lead the renewable energy transition.
Your job
As our first ever Strategic Business Development Manager for the DACH region, you’ll lead the charge in expanding our presence, starting in Germany, and later broadening to other areas across Austria, and Switzerland. Your role will focus on deepening existing client relationships, maximizing value, and identifying new growth opportunities. You’ll become a trusted advisor, helping clients optimize their trading strategies with Dexter’s innovative solutions. Next to this, we expect you to grow our client-base in the region. Your expertise in short-term energy trading, coupled with your ability to drive upsells and renegotiate contracts, will be instrumental in accelerating Dexter’s growth and success in this region.
Your responsibilities
Dive deep into existing client accounts, analyzing ongoing performance and pinpointing opportunities for growth.
Cultivate and maintain long-term partnerships by renegotiating contracts to adapt to evolving market conditions.
Identify and drive upsell opportunities across additional products and volumes, optimizing the value we deliver to clients.
Act as a strategic advisor to clients, helping them optimize their trading strategies and energy forecasts using Dexter’s innovative solutions.
Explore and develop new market growth opportunities within the DACH region, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure product localization and success.
Champion Dexter's solutions at all stages of the sales cycle, from identifying opportunities to closing complex deals.
The requirements
5+ years of commercial experience in renewable energy, ideally in Account Management, Business Development, or Product Management with a strong commercial focus and proven track record in optimizing contracts and driving growth.
Fluency in German and English, with strong communication skills to engage clients and internal teams.
Solid understanding of energy markets (especially short-term power trading) and/or AI-driven solutions for the energy sector.
Ability to navigate complex negotiations and engage clients at a strategic level, fostering long-term relationships.
Reside in Germany (ideally in the North Rhine-Westphalia region) or the Netherlands, as visiting clients in this area is a big part of the role, along with occasional travel to our Amsterdam HQ (1-2 times per month).
