Your team
This position is part of the Commercial team, reporting directly to the Head of Sales & Marketing. You’ll be working across multiple functions, enabling Sales, Marketing, Strategy, and Product to stay ahead of the curve in short-term European power markets.
Role overview
As our (Senior) Power Market Analyst, you’ll be the driving force behind market intelligence at Dexter. You’ll surface timely insights, identify high-impact market developments, and help translate data into business opportunities and compelling narratives. You’ll partner with internal teams like Commercial, Customer Success, and Product and support both strategic decisions and thought leadership.

Responsibilities
Market insight generation: Track short-term power and ancillary service markets (pricing trends, tech, regulation). Identify sharp narratives that build Dexter’s reputation as a trusted voice in European energy.
Strategic & product-facing analysis: Quantify expansion opportunities, model new value streams, monitor regulatory and competitor developments, and guide Product/Strategy with commercial input.
Team enablement:
Empower Sales and CSMs with insight-backed storylines and context for client conversations. Provide trainings, support forecasts, and challenge assumptions with analytical rigor.
You’ll work closely with our commercial, leadership & product teams to ensure Dexter stays ahead of what’s next in energy.

About you
To be successful in this role, you’ll at least need:
Proven experience analyzing European power markets (in trading, strategy, consultancy, or market research)
A strong quantitative mindset and the ability to build data-driven business cases
Knowledge of market design, ancillary services (e.g., aFRR), and European regulatory frameworks
Excellent communication skills and the ability to simplify complex topics for various audiences
A proactive, curious mindset and a balance between rigor and pragmatism
Bonus if you have:
Python or scripting experience for analysis
Experience with forecasting, optimization, or regulatory design
Familiarity with key data sources like ENTSO-E, EPEX, Elia, Aurora
