Junior Financial Analyst

Your team

In this position, you will be embedded within the Finance team at Dexter Energy, reporting directly to Igor Curic (CFO). You will be a key member within the team that will support the team by ensuring the timeliness, and accuracy of data to be used in financial reporting and processes. Your role is to ensure the team has a reliable foundation with which meaningful, insightful analyses can be conducted across the business.

Role overview

As a Junior Financial Analyst at Dexter Energy, you will gain hands-on experience and ownership of our financial systems (Exact) to support financial and strategic decision-making. You will also support the rest of the team in ad-hoc analysis and projects as needed by the business, and assist the team in continuously improving its existing processes. 

Responsibilities

• Work with P&L in Exact and assist in the Finance team’s management accounting processes; quarterly accounting closing, reconciling journal entries with P&L, accounts payable management

• Collaborate closely with other teams and key stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting (e.g., updating workforce related data)

• Assist the Finance team with ad-hoc business / financial analysis and other projects (e.g., OpEx variance analysis and company newsletter)

• Support and contribute towards financial process automation and financial best practices

Role requirements

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.

• Manage responsibilities with a structured approach

• Some familiarity with Excel/Google Sheets and an ability to work with large datasets.

• Basic knowledge of financial systems like Exact is a strong plus.

• A proactive and adaptable mindset with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
